FAQ
Straight answers about how we work.
- How long does it take to launch?
- We agree the first-draft and launch schedule after reviewing your scope and content. Complete photos, business details, domain access, and one clear set of feedback help keep the project moving.
- Do I own my website?
- You retain ownership of the content you provide. We recommend registering your domain in an account you control. Website code licensing, third-party assets, handoff files, and any transfer costs are set out in your written agreement before work begins.
- What happens if I cancel?
- Contact Sidewalk & Screen directly. Your agreement explains notice, billing dates, hosting end dates, and handoff assistance. We confirm the steps with you so you can arrange replacement hosting and protect your domain and content.
- Do you guarantee Google rankings?
- No. SEO foundations include useful page titles and descriptions, clear service content, mobile-friendly layouts, optimized images, a sitemap, and clean URLs. Rankings, traffic, and lead volume depend on many factors and are not guaranteed.
- What if I already have a domain?
- Use it. We'll give you exact DNS instructions and help you point it at your new site.
- How do inquiries and support work?
- Your website's contact form routes inquiries to the agreed business email, and we test delivery before launch. You contact Sidewalk & Screen directly for support and edits. The current service does not include a customer portal, SMS automation, or self-service billing.
- What if I need a change later?
- Each plan includes a defined number of minor edit requests per month. We agree what counts as a minor edit and the response expectations before starting. New pages, integrations, and redesigns are quoted separately before work begins.
- Are the businesses in the template gallery real customers?
- No. They are clearly labeled sample businesses showing different website styles. Names, reviews, credentials, and service details in demos are illustrative. Your site uses your approved content and verified claims.
- What is a free website audit?
- A person reviews your current website for clarity, mobile usability, and contact paths, then shares practical priorities. It is not an automated score or a guarantee of improved revenue. We confirm timing when we respond.
- Can my site take bookings or sell products?
- Our starting offer is a brochure website. We can discuss linking to an existing booking or commerce service. Paid subscriptions, custom integrations, and application development require separate scope and approval.
- Do you take on every business?
- No. We focus on small businesses in industries we know — contractors, restaurants, salons, landscapers, pressure washers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, auto detailing, boutiques, professional services, and outdoor guides.
